Day 2: Be Patient

The irony of today’s focus is not lost on me.  First, because I am posting this late in the day.  The second reason being is that today my husband arrived home from a one year deployment.  Pretty darn awesome.  And a great test of patience!

No matter your goal, if you want to be successful and see results, you must be patient.  You need to be willing to ride out the highs and lows.  To overcome plateaus and setbacks and periods of time when you feel like you are stuck in a rut – or worse – when you feel that you are going backwards rather than forwards.

The thing is though, if you don’t have the patience to go after your goal with everything you have (which WILL take time) you will probably never see your hard work and dedication come to fruition.  If you stop just as things get tough, or when you aren’t seeing progress – if you lose patience – you’ll never get the reward.  If you quit when the hill gets steep, you’ll never realize that incredible feeling – and view – when you are on the mountain top (literally and figuratively).

So be patient. Believe in yourself and your goal(s). Know that success and progress is not linear.  If you accept and embrace that patience is part of the process, you will be that much more set up for success.
